Being Jewish in America has felt different recently.

Almost half (42%) of Jews here say they’ve stopped wearing or displaying anything that says “I’m Jewish” in public.

Sadly, we all know why that is.

But holding our heads low is not the answer. There’s a better answer.

This summer, as America celebrates its 250th, we’re hosting new workshop called Sinai and Civics.

It explores an incredible fact that most people—even most Jews—have never been taught: that many of America’s trademark ideas were directly inspired by the Torah.

It’s not a lucky accident that America has been more welcoming to Jews than any other country in our 2,000-year Diaspora: it’s got to do with the values America was built on (and where they came from).

When you hear this story, you won’t ask, “Do I still belong here?”

You’ll ask, “How did I never know this?”
